U2L ITB and ITB Development Project, on September 3, 2004, joined the Logistics Center (Puslog) ITB, which has a function as a centralized procurement unit at the ITB (ITB Rector's Decree No. 173 / SK / K01 / OT / 2004). However, new Puslog can start operations, as a unit, in January 2005 to undertake the procurement of all goods and services using both DM and state budget funds, and operates based on the Presidential Decree on Government Procurement (Decree No. 80/2003 ). After operating for one year, Puslog in January 2006 changed its name back to UPT Logistics (ITB Rector Decree No. 290 / SK / K01 / KP / 2005).
UPT Logistics serves more than 65 units based on the Plan of Implementation of Quarterly Work Plan and Budget (RKA). Because of the capacity to manage the procurement of goods and services, as well as considering the efficiency and effectiveness, the Logistics Unit provides authority to the work units to undertake their own procurement of goods and services included in a particular category based on the type and value of the procurement. ITB Logistics Unit supports the work unit in procurement activities such as technical assistance in defining requirements, supplier selection process, implementation of work, monitoring and supervision of work, acceptance and distribution of goods and services. Logistics Unit functions in the procurement of goods and services strategic role to ensure that all academic and operational activities can proceed smoothly effectively and efficiently. To that end, the position of Logistics Unit was instrumental in supporting the achievement of the vision of ITB, primarily as an educational institution that is well within their operations.
